The Third Dragon War
The Third Dragon War 514 DW (?)- 547 DW
The Third Dragon War began with the reformation of the Resistance. The Resistance revealed itself in 514 DW in the kingdom of Ilamar, the capitol of the Dragon Warlord Orlin. They slew the old blue dragon and declared war on the remaining Dragon Warlords. From the well fortified capitol, the Resistance was able to systematically liberate the kingdoms of the world, growing more powerful every day. The irony of the war is that the new Resistance was incredibly weak compared to the Resistance of old. The might of the Dragon Warlords should have easily squashed this rebellion, but even facing defeat the Warlords could not work together. The Resistance targeted one Warlord at a time over thirty years. One by one the Warlords fell and in 547 DW the Third Dragon War ended with the death of Warlord Eshu. The end of the Third Dragon War marks the start of the new era, 1 AW (First year after the Dragon Wars). After this war, there was a period of anarchy and rebuilding lasting roughly a generation across the world. Around 45 AW the first city states began to flourish.
The start of this war is something of a debate. The reason being is there is plenty of evidence that the Resistance was engaged in secret action against the Warlords before 514 DW. Because the exact date of the Resistance’s rebirth (if it ever died to begin with) is lost to history, scholars argue over the distinction (if any) between the Dragon Wars.
